3D Printing Applications for Dental Care

At Mason Elite Dentistry we are always looking for ways to improve the dental experience. 3D printing is becoming mainstream with kids printing toys, companies printing plastic parts and now there are vendors specializing in the dental applications. We were able to purchase a SprintRay 3D printer that will be used to fabricate occlusal guards (bite guards) as well as to print models for making bleaching trays.

We use our intraoral scanner to acquire a model of our patient's mouth and then we custom design the guard or the models. From there, we clean the model and cure it to finalize the product. This is a great way to create night guards without the turnaround time. It's always nice to have something made same day without the delay of lab time.
